We often receive thank you notes from our residents and their families. Here is one of the most recent from one of our residents, and in her own words:
I have been at this facility for the past few weeks, The staff has been awesome, very caring and extremely nice to me. Especially Miss Shahrzad, Niha and other caretakers.
Long time and well-respected Saratogan Ernie Kraule has been named to Our Lady of Fatima Board of Directors. Ernie is a former Fire Chief and Saratoga business owner. We are proud to welcome Ernie, pictured with his wife Paula. Ernie got right into the spirit of our pig races and was an official starter during the June 28th highly successful event!
We take great pride in the appearance of our facility. It's time for a refresh and interior "facelift"! New carpets, furniture, lamps and decor will soon be in place. Come take a look!
We love music here at Our Lady of Fatima Vila. Once every few months, we have music in the courtyard. The most recent such event was "Jazz in the Courtyard". It was a great way to enjoy a beautiful California summer afternoon. Lemonade and corndogs created a picnic atmosphere!
Captain Flores of the Saratoga Fire Department complimented Our Lady of Fatima Villa OLFV their preparedness in dealing with disasters. He commented that the staff is well-prepared -- unlike any other and knows all will be in good hands when they respond to an alarm and show up. There was a small fired in the Laundry Room, which was quickly extinguished by our Chefs. No damage was reported. We were all proud to have received the compliment from the Fire Department.
We believe in giving our residents an opportunity to exercise and have fun. It is often you see a badminton contest at a senior care facility -- but during our Garlic Festival, able residents were given the chance to participate. And they did!
Our much-respected Dr. Elizabeth Menkin is retiring. She has been a tremendous contributor and we will miss her. We thank her for all her work at Our Lady of Fatima Villa and wish her much happiness in the next step in her journey.
We have received notice from the Centers for Medicaid and Medical that Our Lady of Fatima Villa once again received a 5-Star Rating. This is the fourth consecutive year we have received this top rating. We are especially proud of this designation because guidelines and standards have been substantially riased this year. This is year another indication of the high quality of compassionate care our residents receive.
Everyone at Our Lady of Fatima Villa is proud of our CEO, Bella Mahoney, for her humanitarian work. Last year she led a group to deliver hospital beds to Brazil.
This year, Bella Mahoney, Renee Pacquier, Maria Guldner, Bruce and Connie Hodgin will be leaving for a fact finding trip to an orphanage outside of Guadalajara, Mexico.
Our Lady of Fatima Villa is known for its delicious and healthy food. Our staff had some fun in our courtyard with a Iron-Chef-Like contest. A tray of previously-unknown ingredients were delivered to "teams" who had a limited amount of time to create a dish using only those ingredients. The results were delicious. Congratulations to the winners...and the competitiors!
