Our Lady of Fatima Villa Stages Mock Disaster to Practice Emergency Preparedness

A “mock emergency preparedness drill” took place October 16.  The “pretend” event was announced as a forest fire approaching the facility and we were theoretically instructed by the authorities to evacuate.

It may have been an imaginary disaster, but our staff took it very seriously and immediately reacted as they have been taught how to deal with emergencies.

Comments heard:

“It was an eye opener for new hires and good practice for all the other staff to learn how to react to any given disastrous event.”
