Rain is welcome and did you see the snow on the mountains?

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful and interesting part of the world.  We seem to be gaining some headway in Northern California's fight against this year's much-talked about drought.  Today's rain were wonderful.  I looked out and saw snow on Mt. Hamilton and his buddies...... the surrounding mountains.  It took my breath away. I love Saratoga/Los Gatos and can't image anywhere I'd rather live, and grow old as a proud resident.  It's a pretty special place.

We Changed the Lives of Nine Children

Residents and staff of Our Lady of Fatima Villa sponsored surgery that changed the lives of nine children in Guatemala.  The transformation came he thanks to Dr. Ron Gemberling and the rest of the Saratoga Rotary Rotaplast Mission that returned tonight. Fatima Villa is proud to have sponsored a successful Rotaplast Mission

We've just received word that the Saratoga Rotary Rotaplast Team has returned home after a successful mission to Guatemala.  The team performed no-cost surgeries on children with cleft lips and cleft palates and in doing so, changed lives not only of the chidren, but their families.  The staff and residents of Our Lady of Fatima sponsored three children and through our Valentine's Taste for Smiles event, we raised money to sponsor a total of nine children.

Our Lady of Fatima Villa Sponsorship Will Change 9 Lives

I am so proud to report that Our Lady of Fatima Villa has donated monies that will pay for 9 surgeries for children in Guatemala who suffer from Cleft Lips and/or Cleft Palates.  The combined efforts of the residents and the staff have raised over $4500 for the Saratoga Rotary Rotaplast Mission to Guatemala.  The cost for each surgery is roughly $500.  The generosity of the residents and the staff says a lot about their caring and compassion.  In addition to donating personal funds, they staged a Valentine's Day fund raiser, "Taste for Smiles" with wine and a strolling dinner that raised ad
