It was a joyous occasion when a crowd of approximately 50 members of Saratoga's Chinese Community gathered to pay respects for and celebrate Mr. Lu's 90th Birthday.  Saratoga Mayor Emily Lo, School Board Member Cynthia Chang, and many others honored this highly respected teacher and gentleman.  Mr. Lu currently resides at Our Lady of Fatima Villa in Saratoga.

Residents Join in Folk, Country, Rock Music Fest at Our Lady of Fatima Villa

Our residents love to have a good time and our Activity Department does just that --- gives our residents many chances to stay active and have fun!  This week was Folk, Country, Rock Music Fest.  It celebrated the birthdays of three great musicians - Carlo Santana, Brian May, and Cat Stevens. Residents were treated to live authentic music performed by our very own celebrity staff - Micaela, CFO (chief fun officer), Lea, HR, and Lani, CNA.  They were joined by staff backup singers.

What we loved was that our residents took to the micophone to join in.

"Elvis" Charms and Entertains Residents at Our Lady of Fatima Villa

We are lucky to have wonderful entertainers come to Our Lady of Fatima Villa.  One of the most popular is  Elvis (sometimes known as Lloyd Aaron Douglas). Fresh from his Monte Carlo concert, Elvis entertained our residents with his own special brand of singing, dancing, hugging (yes), and fun.

Before Elvis arrived, a “young Frankie Sinatra” impersonator, Mr. Rey Aberin entertained the crowd.  Then Elvis arrived, opening with his signature entrance…Space Odyssey/CC Rider.

Our Lady of Fatima Villa Honors Nurses During National Nurse's Week

Our Lady of Fatima Villa has been recognized as one of the "Best Nursing Homes in the US" for three years by US News and World Report.  Much credit goes tour staff -- particularly our nurses.  Each year during National Nurse's Week, we honor our staff nurses with a special luncheon.  It's a wonderful to be able to take time for comraderie and fellowship amidst very busy nursing schedules!

Resident Bernice Pasero Thanks Staff for Their Care with a Luncheon!

Our staff is known for compassionate care.  It is quite a compliment when a resident and/or their family goes out of their way to thank us.  And so, it was a happy occasion when Bernice Pasero (a therapy services "graduate") hosted a luncheon to thank staff for her recovery.  Chef Jose did an outstanding job with the food, and Bernice ordered a special "thank you cake" -- it was delicious and there wasn't much left over!  Thank you Bernice for thanking us!
